Step 1 · Build your report

Your ad library is not the same thing as your concept portfolio.

Meta groups ads that mean the same thing before the auction runs, which means near-identical creative competes as one entry rather than many. Two numbers decide whether your creative program is working: how much volume your account can fund, and how many genuinely different ideas are in it.

This audit answers the first one. Three questions, no email, about thirty seconds.

The audit returns three numbers - what accounts at your spend level ship, what your testing budget can actually put enough spend behind, and whether your hit rate says more volume will help - then tells you which of the three is the constraint. Benchmarked against Motion's 2026 dataset: 578,750 creatives and $1.29B in Meta ad spend across 6,015 advertisers. No email required, no follow-up unless you ask for one.

Diagnostic — Growth Partner readiness
Advanced Matching enriches the Pixel with hashed customer info (email, phone, name, etc.) — bigger custom audiences, more attributed conversions, lower CPA. Restricted verticals (health, finance, etc.) need to set this up manually.
Across your last 20 launched creatives, how many genuinely distinct personas, angles, or mechanisms are represented? Variations of one angle don't count separately.
Meta enforces a per-account ad limit that scales with spend. Worth knowing before you build a production plan against a number the account can't hold.

01 · Your Creative Capacity

There are three numbers that matter here, and only one of them is the benchmark everybody quotes.

The first is what accounts at your spend level actually ship. The second is how many creatives your testing budget can put enough spend behind to get a real read. The third is your hit rate, which decides whether more volume helps you or just costs you more.

If those three don't agree, the benchmark is the least useful of the three.

Tier benchmark
Median creatives / week
What accounts at your spend level actually ship each week. This is the floor, not the target. Top operators in this tier average / wk.
Your capacity ceiling
Fully preheated / week
How many creatives your testing budget can fully preheat at your target CPA. Shipping past this number funds ads that never get enough delivery to tell you anything.
Your quality signal
Hit rate
The share of your creatives that become winners. A low hit rate is a concept problem, and more volume at the same hit rate makes it more expensive rather than better.

The verdict

Volume is a ratio, not a number. The failure mode isn't shipping too few ads, it's letting spend grow faster than output. In an account teardown published this month, a 5.8 ROAS held while weekly spend doubled - because launches doubled with it. The month spend rose 131% and launches rose 10%, ROAS broke. Track dollars of weekly spend per new creative shipped. When that number climbs, you're on the clock.

What This Means for Your Brand Vertical

02 · Budget Calculator

Recommended monthly ad spend to support this volume of testing, with the testing-vs-BAU split that keeps winners flowing. Math anchored to the tier's spend range and Meta's "50 conversions per creative for proper preheating" guideline.

This is where the volume benchmark meets reality. The testing pool has to cover enough spend per creative to preheat it, or the creative never gets read.

04 BONUS Concept Briefs You Can Hand to a Videographer For your top 3 formats

Specific, brief-ready concepts for the three highest-impact format styles in your vertical. These are starting points - the kind a strategist would put on a creative brief rather than abstract format names. Concepts are the scarce input under the current delivery model, which is why they lead the back half of this report; the full format ranking they map to is in section 05.

05 · Top Visual Styles for Your Vertical

Two ways to read the data. Spend Use Ratio tells you which formats punch above their weight (>1.0 means out-performer). Hit Rate tells you how often a format produces a winner.

06 · What Language Wins on Meta

Hooks and headline tactics that produced winners most frequently. Global data — not vertical-specific. Dataset window covers BFCM, so urgency and price-anchor language is over-represented.

      Format & Asset Mix

Text-forward assets out-perform polished production formats in the dataset. Their advantage is speed: faster to produce, faster to test, easier to remix.

08 · Meta Platform Guardrails Source: Meta Creative Performance Playbook

The Motion benchmarks tell you how much to ship. Meta's own playbook tells you how to ship it.

      1. Volume floorRun a minimum of 5 differentiated ads per ad set. Meta Playbook, p.24
      2. Format mixInclude image (1:1 / 4:5), video (1:1 / 4:5), and 9:16 vertical video. Ad sets with all three see ~7.3% lower CPA. Meta Playbook, p.39
      3. Mobile-first≥90% of spend should run on mobile-first creative concepts. Meta Playbook, p.18
      4. PlacementsBuild for 6+ placements; opt into Reels via Advantage+ for ~15% more conversions per dollar. Meta Playbook, p.54
      5. CreatorsTest partnership ads — 63% of people bought a product in the past 6 months because of a creator recommendation. Meta Playbook, p.56

09 · 90-Day Creative Calendar A starter cadence for the next quarter

Twelve weeks. Each month is themed around what you're optimizing. Volume scales with your tier; the format mix rotates through the vertical's top performers.

      What this report cannot see

Everything above is about capacity - the volume your budget and your hit rate can support. It says nothing about whether the creative you are already running is distinct enough to occupy that capacity, because this tool never sees your ads.

That second number is usually the more expensive one. A brand shipping twenty assets a month that are all the same promise, the same proof, and the same audience is funding twenty productions to enter something closer to one auction. The shortfall between the ideas your spend needs and the ideas you have is what I call Concept Debt, and it does not show up in any dashboard.

Reading it takes a human and about fifteen minutes in your Meta Ad Library. I group your live ads by concept rather than by asset, and I send you the grouping in writing within two business days. You keep it either way.

On the data What this report is built from, and what it isn't

The volume and hit-rate benchmarks come from Motion's Creative Benchmarks 2026 report: 578,750 creatives, $1.29B in Meta spend, 6,015 advertisers, September 2025 through January 2026. Format diversity and preheat guidance come from Meta's own Creative Performance Playbook.

That window closes before most of the Andromeda-era delivery changes worked through the auction, so treat the volume medians as a floor for where accounts were, not a target for where yours should be. That's exactly why this audit runs your capacity ceiling and hit rate alongside the benchmark rather than handing you the benchmark alone.

      Methodology
Benchmark figures sourced from Motion's Creative Benchmarks 2026 report — analyzing 578,750 creatives and $1.29B in Meta ad spend across 6,015 advertiser accounts (Sep 2025 – Jan 2026). Supplemented by Meta's Creative Performance Playbook. A "winner" is defined as a creative that spent ≥10× the account median plus a $500 floor. Budget math anchored to Meta's "50 conversions per creative for proper preheating" guideline.
